Great Week :)

This week has been just fantastic, no crazy stories this time thank goodness...We spent a lot of time at the hospital giving blessings. One investigator called us and said she was going into emergency surgery in a few minutes and wanted a blessing, by some miracle we got passed the doctors and ER and found her to give her a blessing, she was so grateful. Then we found out that the hospital had a little chapel/meditation room and we walked in and it was full of JW literature....so we changed that and added some truth to the room;)
My testimony of the Book of Mormon has really grown this week. The pastor family we're teaching got into some heavy anti, they had articles and scriptures all ready for us when we got there, not to bash i would say, but definitely lots of questions. I was not worried at all, I received a promise that nothing would stand against the Book of Mormon. They started they're arguments and scriptures and articles and it was just sad. They imploded on themselves, everything they said they had to back track and try to explain, they were fighting themselves, it was chaos. I finally interrupted and said, "I don't follow the God of chaos and your doctrine is twisting your own tongues into a confusion that doesn’t come from God. You've taken His personality, His glory, and His role as the Father out and then have told us that it doesn’t really matter if we understand it at all, but that is false because THAT is life Eternal, to KNOW the one and true God, and Jesus Christ, who he sent."

Every one stopped and the Spirit was there soo strong, they basically apologized. We then committed them to read the Book of Mormon without looking for faults. I told them that if I were to read the bible looking for mistakes God would give me no revelation, and they agreed to it. They also gave me a piece of literature from their church and I promised to pray about it. I had a really sacred experience praying about it, which just reinforced the Book of Mormon more.  Nothing can break this Book, it is the ONLY reason 18 year olds can go up against the world when we're backed up into a wall with all the anti Satan has mustered raining down on us, one thing stands between us and the devil, and that is the Book of Mormon.

Another week in Winslow :)

Hope you all are doing well! We've had another eventful week down in Winslow! Lots of people to teach so we're staying real busy! The Messors are pastors for the Assembly of God and they've been meeting with us for a few months now. They believe the Book of Mormon is true, they're just having a hard time imagining everything in their life that would change if they accepted it. So we've been working very closely with them! Please keep them in your prayers!:) Leo Leonard is like 75 or 80 years old and he's REALLY REALLY close to being Baptized! Larry Oso is married to a member and he's set for Baptism too! Lots and lots of work that never ends!! It's overwhelming to think sometimes that out of the billions of people on earth that there are only 2 set apart full time to gather Israel in Winslow Arizona and the surrounding areas! It's definitely a blessing to be able to feel all of the prayers that are for us in the Temples and from members around the world though!

We've been doing a lot of service too, Winslow isn’t very prepared for floods and they've been getting some BIG ones. The core of engineers is currently working on a levee to surround the city and it's like as big as the ones that go around New Orleans! So we've been digging lots of canals and ditches for families. We've also been spending a lot of time helping families out in the middle of the desert sheer sheep for blankets and stuff. The good part is they feed you delicious food like Kineesh'dizh which is basically mutton, stew and fry bread, sometimes they change it up though!;)

I've been really blessed this week with comfort from Heavenly Father because some difficult things happened. We drove by Ericka Bakers house, who is an investigator on track for Baptism, and when we got there some people had just found her dead in the apartment a few minutes before we showed up, so yeah that sucked. We kind of just had to go home and take a breather. I spent a-lot of time in the scriptures and on my knee's. Heavenly Father reassured that the resurrection is real and that really helped me get through all of it. We went over and talked to the couple that found her body and they were really messed up so we were able to talk to them a lot about Gods plan of salvation and the power of the Resurrection. Jesus Christ is the ONLY way to get through trials like this. I have no need to fear, Jesus Christ has died for me. The blessing of knowing that is priceless and I'm honored to be able to share that with the world!

Hola!!!

Hola!! I'm getting really tired of all the different languages I hear and they all sound the same now, Hopi, Navajo and Spanish are just blending together so I'm sorry if my English is terrible:P This week I learned alot, really just about my self. Missions are like super refiners fires for yourself, it gives you so much time to evaluate your spiritual and temporal well being. Any miss balance of my homeostasis seems to just throw my way off, I'm learning a lot about my self, the Holy Ghost and how much Jesus Christ and God the Father are invested in my life and every other life in this universe.
I've had a lot of fun experiences the last couple weeks whenever I wake up randomly in the night and this week was a five foot asteroid that landed in the desert near me, that was cool!! We met a couple new people this week too. We were tracting to find a woman who was interested and her brother answered the door and goes "we're Catholic" and starts to close the door. Well I'm so fed up with people doing this to me that I basically stuck my foot in the door and asked him a question. He goes "What are you JW's?" And that was our golden opportunity to give him the quickest most important message that man has and will ever receive in his earthly existence. He started asking genuine questions, like REAL questions that come from a hungry soul starving for truth. He couldn't believe that there was a real prophet on the earth and couldn't stop asking questions about him. The Spirit was so strong as we gave him a Book of Mormon and he asked for permission to come to church! I have high expectations for him.
I've also had the great opportunity to do a lot of family history this week and the promise that Elder Bednar made concerning it has definitely come true. I feel protected from evil and I truly feel my ancestors watching over me.
We've also had a couple of experiences that I'm not going to go into detail about but I do want to give a warning. There is a reason Alma commanded his son not to talk about or reveal the secret combinations that the devil has instituted since Cain. There is A LOT of witchcraft and dark evil power that comes from the reservations, medicine men, and secret combinations plague it. The devil has real power, don't look for it, research it, or become interested or curious about it even if you think you’re strong enough. I know his power is real and that we are weaker when we search evil. I've got a couple journal entry's my kiddo's will be wondering about in a couple dozen years for sure;) BUT I also know that the priesthood is real and much more powerful. As a worthy Saint we're protected from evil and because of Jesus Christ we don't have to fear it. Jesus Christ is the key, the power, and the only way we can escape and overcome Satan in this darkening world. I'm a real witness that He is hastening his work and Satan is also. Just as this is the dispensation of the fullness of the Everlasting Gospel, it is also the dispensation of the fullness of Evil. Stay close to our Lord and we will conquer all!!
